Intro
What is your Gamertag?
EU Assault
What team are you representing?
Netherlands 1
Short Bio
Tell us about yourself?
I'm Niels and I'm 28 years old. I've been playing Halo since Halo 3, but started competing about a year into Halo 5's lifespan.
What made you want to start competing in Halo?
Halo 5's ranked arena playlist made me want to improve my rank. During this I started to meet new people of higher ranks which helped me to improve. I started playing in online tournaments, watch pro League and anything H5 I could watch and try to form and get onto teams. In 2018 I went to my first LAN and had a blast!
Nations Cup
How does it feel to be representing a nation in a Halo tournament?
The Dutch are a pretty down to earth people, but we are also proud to be Dutch. It's a nice twist.
Teams were announced on Twitter a week before the tournament. Do you feel your team has had adequate time to prepare?
I'd have preferred for us to be able to sign up as a team of 4, but I can totally see why the TO went this route. This way they've made sure that everybody that signed up has a fair chance.
What is the biggest challenge you see ahead of you in this tournament?
We are a small country with very little remaining players. Some countries have more players of a high skill level compared to us. It's up to us to give is our all.
Who are you most excited to play against and why?
A lot of the teams have players we know, so its either or really. Would be nice to beat Spain 1 as a revenge for 2010 of course :)
Who on your team is grabbing the Sniper? Rockets?
Fable is always grabbing snipe whether we like it or not, so I guess the rest of us will have to discuss rockets.
Who is your playmaker?
I think it depends on who's feeling it that game. Fable and I have the most experience of the group, although Betrayski can decide a game out of pure rage XD. I don't know Gurtacus too well but I feel like, if he gets a bit more confident in himself, he could do it as well.
Final Slayer Game is tied 49-49, What is the play?
The only right answer is to jump out and ego challenge the guy top mid.
What would it mean to win the Nations Cup to you and your team?
We'd all retire, because I believe we should quit while we're ahead :)
Rapid Fire
