Concrescence, the Podcast Evolved Official Soundtrack, composed by the immensely talented Trey J. Anderson, is finally here! It features eighteen total tracks totaling 69 minutes of incredible original Halo-themed music, twelve tracks from the album proper, and six bonus tracks we are lovingly calling the extended album. If you don’t know Trey, he has composed numerous tracks and albums in the style of Halo and other science fiction universes in the past, including the intro music for many of our episodes on YouTube.
If you didn’t know, Podcast Evolved, with the help of our incredible patrons, have teamed up with multiple artists for over a year to create original art in the style and universe of Halo. Our first commission was a piece by Christian Blanche (@QuintSays on Twitter), depicting a scene from the recent novel Halo: Silent Storm. As you can see from this scaled-down image, he is an incredible artist, and does an amazing job of bringing the Halo novels to life.

This time we decided to go even bigger, and not just commission a single piece, but an entire album. Creating original music for the show has been discussed for a little while now, but it only became a reality because of our patrons. Having teamed up with Trey previously for our intro music, we thought who better to compose an original Halo-themed album. To say we were impressed with the results would be the understatement of 2020! Trey has wowed us yet again with his musical chops, tying in Halo with several other great science fiction franchises into a cohesive thematic album. I would try to describe it to you, but why describe it when you can listen to it? The full album is currently limited to our patrons only, but enjoy this track, the ninth of the album, titled “Grey Clouds”. if you hear some familiar themes from a certain 2009-era game, you aren’t mistaken.
This is just one of eighteen tracks that all our patrons get in lossless quality. As I mentioned, Trey developed this with a coherent theme running throughout. I could try to describe that for you, but instead why don’t we have Trey do the honors:
“The vision I had for this album was "dark Halo" meaning I tried to capture the Halo sound while also adding putting a modern spin on it. I really tried to make the album tell a cohesive story as if it's an actual OST for a game or movie. (This) could definitely work in a Flood spinoff game! There are a few recurring motifs throughout the album as well which helps tie it all together.”
Well I don’t know about you, but I definitely want a Flood spinoff game, and this album could absolutely serve as the soundtrack for that! If you want to hear the rest, here is how you can do that.
