Tonight on the blog, we are taking a look at Halo Micro Action Figures Series 13 - also known as the second wave of Halo Infinite Blindbags from the Mega Construx team. This is a fantastic assortment of figures with some great Banished figures packed into this assortment - so let’s jump in and take a closer look!
On the UNSC front, we have an assortment of Spartans which combine a mixture of aesthetics and accessories to create a diverse assortment of UNSC characters. We have a metallic Blue Spartan Mark V with a gunmetal MA40 - and I love the use of the Grenadier torso on this figure, and the asymmetrical shoulder and arm colours on this figure. Alongside the Spartan Mark V, we also have a Spartan Anubis - who comes in an interesting red and yellow colour scheme. Whilst I’m not a huge fan of more vibrant Spartans, I do appreciate the inclusion of the DMR here - something which I don’t think we’ve seen in blind-bags in this format before.
The third Spartan included here is the most realistic one - with a metallic green CQC Spartan packed into this assortment. I love the paint applications on the CQC helmet included here, and I also think that the Mangler included here is a nice addition since it is still a new weapon which we haven’t seen released in massive frequency yet. The final Spartan included alongside the CQC is a active camouflage Spartan Trailblazer, and this is a nice figure, but the helmet sculpt in particular feels a little bit softer here in comparison to some of the other transparent figures we have seen in the past.
On the Banished front, we have some absolutely fantastic army builders. Up first is the metallic purple Grunt Conscript - who comes complete with a Needler. This figure feels as though it has been pulled straight from the E3 2020 Gameplay demo, and is a great figure with some nice visual flair to it. I am happy to have amassed a few of this one! The Grunt is accompanied by a fantastic Jackal Freebooter - this one in the same red colour scheme as the one included in the Mercenary Combat Unit. I am happy to see MCX fans getting the opportunity to get their hands on this figure again, as I think it is going to be a popular and mass-able characters which collectors will appreciate.
Thirdly, we have the Elite Ultra in a dark grey colour scheme, something which looks fantastic. I love how this version of the Elite Ultra feels almost like a Banished Special Forces character - and I would love to see this figure accompanied by some dark grey colour Grunt Conscripts in the future. Lastly, we have the micro build of the Banished Phantom - something which has some nice curvature and some nice angular designs to capture the design of the vehicle in the game.
Overall, Wave 2 of the Halo Infinite blind bags provides a great assortment of characters. Whilst the UNSC side feels focussed mainly on Spartans, the Banished forces here really shine – with lots of great army builders packed into this wave which will really ensure that anyone who is looking to grow their Banished forces can do so with this wave. I have already amassed lots of the Grunt, Jackal and a couple of Elites – and I will probably buy more in the future.
