Short Bio
Tell us about yourself?
From Ireland. 18. Big hardware computer lover. Build and fix all electronics as a hobby but decided to pursue it as a career while doing Computer Science in Sligo IT. In Sligo IT, I am one of the main 3 of there Rocket League team for Irish Collgate Esports. Call of Duty and Rocket League Esports fan. Main reason I got into esports was because I watched faze clan, originally the trickshoting but then I learned of clayster who was a pro call of duty player for faze at the time and that's where esports kinda took off. Just loved esports, cod Esports especially ever since and it's been my main sport. From this in Advanced Warfare on Xbox 360, I was one of the top Irish players at the time of launch but skipped Black Ops 3 because I didn't have an Xbox One. Infinite warfare was where it took off, played GB (gamebattles) with a school friend that also found out what esports was. Then for the following next code I was the top Irish player on the competitive Call of duty modes for the first 2 months at launch on xbox. Then this brings me to Halo ... And your next question.
What made you want to start competing in Halo?
I started playing halo in 2013 after going to my dad's bosses house and his two sons played Halo Reach. We had so much fun playing it that the next day we went to town I got... Halo 4 ... Because I didn't know what halo we played. A month later, I corrected myself and got halo reach. After a few online games, I was quickly welcomed into a clan community where this team we fight other teams but in a BTB style where we would raid the other teams headquarters. Two weeks later, my Xbox Live Gold ran out and I didn't get it again for a very long time. Back to CoD. See the only Irish pro player in CoD was Jurd and he played for Splyce. It was instantly my go to team then I found out Halo even had an esports team by looking at the Spylce Twitter page and basically two weeks later I traded Forza Horizon 3 for Halo 5 and jumped straight in and played in a Europa FFA with 3 hrs playtime and only being level 15 I believe maybe less. And that's it. I kinda dabbed in and out until the summer of 2019 and the biggest rest of my life... The Leaving Cert... I got told of Halo Faceit Ignite and as my parents had chosen not to go on holidays, I begged them to go to London to play in a proper tournament at LAN. That's why I main Halo Esports more than Call of Duty esports now.
Nations Cup
How does it feel to be representing a nation in a Halo tournament?
Pretty cool. I actually told my parents and ever since my dad saw the money some pro players are on and that in the future this will be a big thing, he supports me all the way. So I told him I was representing Ireland and now the whole neighborhood knows (I live in the country side and work on a farm so all this stuff is big news to them). I go anywhere to help people and I just get complements and feels really good too since to me this is a big thing and I'm happy my piers know this.
Teams were announced on Twitter a week before the tournament. Do you feel your team has had adequate time to prepare?
Definitely not lol. Not even an understatement as I have been doing farm work during the week and Fury and cal also have work during the week. Only once have we played as a 4 man before so it's going to be fun as we only have the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the event to get things sorted.
What is the biggest challenge you see ahead of you in this tournament?
Slaying power. Our team gels together well but it's a team made up of players that haven't been in there top form for about 2 years at least and I pulled them outta retirement onto a team . So we know we need good objective to win games and teamwork and hopefully the other teams get a little cocky and ego challenge and we just try to correct them on it and see how it goes.
Who are you most excited to play against and why?
Probably either of the two Irish teams as I think especially the first team. I think they picked the best Ireland has to offer but we want to prove them wrong. Another team I want to say is England 3 because I have an ex teammate in Boka on the team and he's been grinding this game a lot more and a lot longer than me so on paper he's good but the question is, can he work well as a team in halo 5?
Who on your team is grabbing the Sniper? Rockets?
Literally anyone no joke 😂. Sniper more than likely Steelemon or Nath but all depends on the map, but more than likely them 2. Rockets I would say Fury or Nath more than likely.
Who is your playmaker?
Hmmmm... Obj or clutch plays more then likely me as I have been known to get those flag recaps very fast and unexpectedly. Slaying playmaker I would say steelemon.
Final Slayer Game is tied 49-49, What is the play?
To be honest here, unless you Interview after the game and that happened then I could tell you but who on earth knows the play before it even happens😂
What would it mean to win the Nations Cup to you and your team?
To me, out of the 23 teams, if we got top 12 I would be happy. But to win bruh Níl ís agám is all I can say to that 😂 Tá mé ar muín na muíce ... There's something for your translate person to do.
Rapid Fire
Favorite Halo game?
Halo Reach because nostalgia ... Halo 5 when it comes to esports.
Favorite competitive Halo map?
Truth maybe as a consistent map but I like Pit as good layout.
Favorite competitive Halo game mode?
Slayer for sure... I play alot of solo queue 😂
Favorite competitive Halo weapon?
Pistol Halo 5 for sure, maybe H5 or Reach DMR, but anything that's single fire.
If HCS Pro Talk were to visit your home country, where is one place we’d have to eat?
Family never had much money so never go to eat places. Literally I consider MacDonald's a restaurant... The Ocean Palace maybe is a local Chinese pretty good.
What is one thing you need to have in Halo Infinite?
You had to ask it. If I had to pick one I am going to go with sprint as without it in my opinion it's an outdated game as if it's multiplayer it needs sprint or if it's DMR main weapon.. if you hold the pistol you walk faster but that's a big still even at that it lowers the skill gap so I'm going to say Sprint. Final answer.
