HISTORY

Eayn is the homeworld of the Kig-Yar, supporting a population of nearly one billion.  The moon is relatively similar to Earth, though it slightly smaller and contains one large ocean surrounding two continents.  The Kig-Yar are known for favoring pirating, which proved difficult for the Covenant to control when they discovered them in 1342.  Even after joining the Covenant, the Kig-Yar would often resort to piracy, which was somewhat tolerated for the sake of peace.
