SUMMARY
The Attack on Rahnelo was an unprovoked attack by the San'Shyuum Prelate Tem'Bhetek, directed by the former Covenant Minister of Preparation Boru'a'Neem, on the Sangheili colony world of Rahnelo towards the end of 2553. The colony was entirely defenseless, and the attack killed many Sangheili civilians. Additionally the kaidon of Rahnelo and two of his sons were taken hostage by Tem'Bhetek. The attack was an attempt to provoke the Shadow of Intent to come investigate so that Tem'Bhetek could destroy the ship and kill the ship's commander Rtas 'Vadum. This conflict led directly into the Ambush at Duraan.
