SUMMARY

Spartan-IV Fireteam Osiris is deployed to the planet of Kamchatka after receiving a distress signal from Doctor Catherine Halsey, who had been kidnapped by Jul 'Mdama during the Requiem campaign.  When they arrive on the planet they become involved with a battle between Prometheans and 'Mdama's forces.  Osiris successfully recovers Halsey and kills Jul 'Mdama in the process.

Spartan-II Blue Team, led by John-117, are sent to the research vessel Argent Moon, and during the operation receive communications from Cortana that she is on the human colony Meridian.  Blue Team successfully scuttle the ship and leave for Meridian.  When they arrive on Meridian, they discover an underground Forerunner facility housing a large weapon known as a Guardian.  They meet the Warden Eternal, a Forerunner ancilla, and he allows them to pass onto the Guardian while it is being activated.

Osiris is sent by the UNSC Infinity to recover Blue Team, since they left for Meridian in direct violation of their orders.  Osiris discovers the same facility and is forced to fight off the Warden Eternal in order to catch up with Blue Team.  Osiris manages to stop Blue Team as they are about the get onto the Guardian, but after a brief fight, Blue Team escapes onto the Guardian, and Osiris is forced to flee.

Osiris devises a plan to find another Guardian and use it to travel to where Blue Team went.  The team joins forces with Thel 'Vadam and his Swords of Sanghelios to push back the last remains of Jul 'Mdama's Covenant on Sanghelios and get to the Guardian.  Osiris and the Swords of Sanghelios successfully defeat Jul 'Mdama's Covenant forces at Sunaion, and after another encounter with the Warden Eternal, they manage to get onto the Guardian and travel to the Forerunner builder world Genesis.

On Genesis, Blue Team eventually find Cortana, and though she tries to convince them to join her side, they refuse.  Cortana takes Blue Team prisoner, and places them into a Forerunner stasis device known as a cryptum.  Osiris, arriving on Genesis two days after Blue Team, fight their way to Blue Team's location, and with the help of installation monitor 031 Exuberant Witness, succeed in releasing Blue Team from the cryptum before Cortana can leave with them.  Cortana then sends her Guardians around the galaxy to be used as keepers of the peace, starting the Rule of the Created, an alliance of artificial intelligences.
