SERVICE RECORD

Taylor “Dutch” Miles was born on the inner colony world of Mars in 2519, getting drafted in 2540, and deciding to join the ODSTs. Dutch fought in several battles during his career, notably during Operation: GREY VEIL alongside Cal-141, and with Alpha-Nine under Edward Buck during the Battle for Earth at the tail end of the war. Following the Human-Covenant War, Alpha-Nine was sent to quell insurrectionist rebellions, which saw the loss of his squadmate known as the Rookie during the Draco III Rebellion. This loss paid a heavy toll on Dutch, and played a deciding factor in his decision to leave the ODSTs to spend more time with his wife.

Though Dutch spent the years between 2554 and 2558 in retirement, his skills were highly sought after be the Spartan-IV program, and after Jun-A266 made a spot in the upcoming recruitment class for both him and his wife, Dutch rejoined the service as a Spartan-IV trainee sometime in 2557 or 2558. While still in training in the Spartan-IV training station following the Raising of the Guardians, Edward Buck arrived on station to recover Michael “Mickey” Crespo, discovering Dutch and bringing him along to the Battle of Cassidy III. As of late 2558, Dutch is still a part of Alpha-Nine.
